Later he sold the castle in 1464 to Jean de Moulins, Mayor of Poitiers. After the fire in 1474 he rebuilt and strengthened the castle with the permission of René d'Anjou. It has been the property of the family of Moulins de Rochefort for centuries.
The main building comprises two wings connected to each other through a polygonal tower. The distribution and layout of the living spaces are characterized by the desire for comfort by large fireplaces, most of which are still dating from the XV century. The chapel is built against the main building and has 2 entrances, from outside and is also accessible from within from the living room. The chapel has 2 arches and is illuminated by windows. There is a first-floor on-site theater. This made it possible for the lord of the house to follow the service without having to go between the people
