Wine and cycling

If you are looking for a nice glass of wine then it's great to drive the wine route and stop at wineries to taste the wines from this region.
The Haut-Poitou is a small wine region north of the city of Poitiers. Wine-growing dates back to the third century, but was mainly developed by Dutch wine traders who transported wine from this region and the Charentes to Flanders and Holland in the seventeenth century.
The climate is under the influence of the Atlantic Ocean and provides wines with sufficient freshness and aromatic intensity.

They travel safely through urban areas and beyond on quiet roads, forest paths, railways that are no longer in use or hikes along the water. The construction of these green cycle paths has looked at three key points: protection of the natural environment, attractiveness for tourists and low traffic density in the cycling areas. These routes take you to the maison de tourisme.
